Yes, that\u2019s right. The French legislation offers a free option, a self attestation. This is also possible for cash register manufacturers. An exception is to be seen here however, if the POS software is developed for the internal us of a company and not for commercialisation of the system, a certification must be carried out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But here something is overlooked! Most only see the development and integration of the ISCA rules<\/a> as with the certified version, the fulfilment of the confirmation of conformity and the installation. However, it is not that simple!<\/strong> Because each POS software must meet the same requirements, such as the documentation of the software development<\/a> and also the testing program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Because also for the self attestation there are different requirements which were fixed in the BOI 30-10-30<\/a>, we don\u2019t even need to talk about the ISCA rules. However, there are a number of documents that must be made available in the French language. They are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n If these documents are not available at the time of the audit, they must be submitted within 30 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The prescribed program for auditing the created fiscal archives must also be available in French. This includes step-by-step instructions for the fiscal authorities. This must explain how the fiscal archives<\/a> are created and verified for integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is not as expensive as everyone thinks. As we can see, the documentation is exactly the same as for self attestation, and the testing tool and the manual for this tool are also mandatory for both variants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The only additional element is the external testing by one of the two certification bodies. Here the prices vary depending on the certification body and the scope of the test. But what is the benefit of this audit?<\/p>\n\n\n\n By having a third party examine the documentation, greater security is achieved when this part was provided correctly. In addition, the source code is also checked for functionality. But that is not all! The POS is also tested for correct functionality and also for its robustness against fraud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Finally, the fiscal archive is tested. Here, the correctness of the archive is also tested as well as its ability to protect against any changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is obvious that these intensive tests cost working time and money! But they also bring the security that the POS works objectively and complies with the law. In the event of an audit by the tax authorities, this security is worth its weight in gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Here, too, is a clear advantage that the POS manufacturer obtains with certification. He can provide his POS dealers and operators with a POS that has been independently tested. Ici, les prix varient en fonction de l’organisme de certification et de l’étendue de l’examen. Mais quel est l’intérêt de cet examen ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Le contrôle de la documentation par un organisme tiers garantit déjà que cette partie a été établie correctement. En outre, le fonctionnement du code source est également vérifié. Mais ce n’est pas tout ! En effet, le POS est également contrôlé quant à son fonctionnement correct et à sa résistance à la fraude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Enfin, il y a encore le test des archives fiscales. Ici aussi, l’exactitude des archives ainsi que la sécurité de celles-ci contre les modifications sont testées.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Il est évident que ces tests intensifs coûtent du temps de travail et de l’argent ! Mais ils apportent aussi la certitude que le POS fonctionne objectivement et qu’il est conforme à la loi. En cas de contrôle par les autorités financières, cette sécurité vaut de l’or.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Là encore, le fabricant de caisses présente un avantage certain en obtenant la certification. Il peut offrir à ses commerçants et exploitants de caisses un TPV qui a été contrôlé de manière indépendante. Les deux organismes de certification LNE et Infocert sont connus et leur sceau est également connu des propriétaires d’entreprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Un TPV portant l’un de ces labels est tout simplement plus « sûr » dans l’esprit des exploitants de caisses, bien que les exigences de base soient les mêmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Il ne faut donc pas considérer uniquement le montant de la certification.
